TM Logan was born in Berkshire to an English father and a German mother. He grew up in Reading and developed an avid interest in reading. He studied at Queen Mary and Cardiff universities, where he read history and later journalism.

Logan began his career as a reporter at the Nottingham Evening Post. He later moved to London to work as a science reporter at the Daily Mail. He returned to the East Midlands to join the University of Nottingham as a press officer.

Logan wrote fiction in spare hours for several years. In January 2017, he published his debut thriller, Lies. Two weeks later, his university role was made redundant, and he turned full-time to writing. “It’s a job that I love,” he later said. Lies became one of Amazon UK’s biggest ebooks of 2017 and won a Nielsen Silver Award. His second novel, 29 Seconds (2018), confirmed his move into standalone thrillers.

The Holiday (2019) was a Richard & Judy Book Club pick and a Sunday Times bestseller. It spent ten weeks in the paperback Top 10 and later became a four-part TV drama. The Catch (2020) was adapted for television, starring Jason Watkins. Trust Me (2021) was featured on the Sunday Times list. The Curfew followed, set over one summer night after exam season. The Mother told of a woman who seeks justice after being wrongfully convicted.

The Dream Home (2024) traced a family who uncover dark secrets in a Victorian villa. It was named Audiobook of the Year at the 2025 Fingerprint Awards. His most recent novel is The Daughter (2025), a Richard & Judy selection and Sunday Times bestseller. The story follows a mother who searches for her missing student daughter in London.

Logan’s thrillers have sold over three million copies in the UK. His books are published in translation in twenty-two countries.
