R.A. Sandpiper

R. A. Sandpiper is a British fantasy author from the south of England. She is best known for The Amefyre Trilogy (2024–2025), a romantic fantasy series featuring magic, political conflict, and slow-burning relationships. Her writing centres on morally complex characters who navigate dangerous worlds.

Rachel Sandpiper holds a law degree but has never worked in the legal field. Before becoming a full-time writer, she spent five years in roles closely related to the government. She enjoys games of all kinds and describes herself as someone who 'will always dance at weddings'. She uses the pronouns she/her.

The Amefyre Trilogy begins with A Pocket of Lies (2024), which follows Suri, a thief entangled in high-stakes crime and royal secrets. After killing the envoy of the Wasteland ruler and failing to protect the kidnapped princess, Suri is forced to face dangerous debts and shifting alliances. The novel introduces a slow-burn romance against a backdrop of betrayal and adventure.

The second book, A Promise of Blood (2024), heightens the emotional and political tension. Suri and Kol must navigate a growing attraction while remaining poised between trust and destruction.

In the final instalment, A Claiming of Souls (2025), the trilogy reaches its climax. After making a costly bargain with the Fae, Suri struggles to reclaim her identity. As war looms, revelations challenge her beliefs and the cost of resistance increases. 'A soul taken. A soul restored. A war at her fingertips,' reads the tagline. With new alliances and deadly consequences, the story builds towards a transformative finale.
