William laughed. Maddox had been right. He did look cute when he laughed.

There would be plenty of time to teach him manners later.

William didn’t bother reading the text on the paper. He did as he was told and signed his name.

"This is your room. You will no doubt find it plain, but you will receive a decorating allowance.”

“Decorating allowance?” Will smirked. “That’s the gayest thing I've heard all day.”

Maddox did not so much as quirk his lips at the joke. Apparently, internalized homophobia did not please his eternal captor.

Will was not okay. Will was severely injured.

“Lorien, go lock yourself in the basement. Now.”

“No!” He chided Will like an aggressive dog. “Bad boy!”

“Get away from me,” Will said. “I don’t like doctors.”

“I’m going to sedate him.”

“No, you’re fucking not…”

“I hope you are hungry,” Maddox greeted him.

Nothing was said about Will’s escape attempt slash suicide plunge of the night before.

“Enough,” Maddox sighed. “I’m going to bed.”

“Since when do you go to bed?”

“Since I miss my boy.”
