Or so we are taught. Maybe one can disagree. Maybe one can choose to revolt instead. Maybe one can oppose, violate, and escape. Maybe one can become a shadow in the night that walks a lawless path without fright. Maybe.

I used to respect laws. I used to love and obey them. Now, I cannot count the number of laws I have broken, cannot count the number of unseeable bindings I’ve snapped without the slightest hint of guilt or remorse.

I would not even bother to try.
