L.L. McKinney

Leatrice "Elle" McKinney, who writes under the name L.L. McKinney, is an advocate for equality and inclusion in publishing. She is the creator of the hashtags #PublishingPaidMe and #WhatWoCWritersHear. McKinney is a gamer, a Blerd, and an adamant Hei Hei stan living in Kansas City.

She was named one of the Root's 100 most influential African Americans and BET's 100 entertainers and innovators of the year.

McKinney is an advocate for equality and inclusion in publishing.

She is also the creator of the hashtags #PublishingPaidMe and #WhatWoCWritersHear.

She strives to push comics, anime, video games, sci-fi, and fantasy toward representation that better reflects the diverse world we live in. She lives in Kansas City and spends her free time with her two cats.

Her works include the Nightmare-Verse books and Nubia: Real One, published by DC; Marvel’s Black Widow: Bad Blood; Power Rangers: Heir to Darkness; and more.
