17-year-old Andrew should be focused on procrastinating on homework, partying with friends, and applying to colleges. Instead, he suffers a school shooting at his high school during the beginning of his senior year.
Andrew's life changes in two ways the day of the shooting. His friend Mike dies in the shooting, and Andrew forms a bond with Levi: a fellow senior who hides in the copy room with him during the shooting.
A relationship quickly ensues between Andrew and Levi. But there's one problem. Levi is closeted, and if Andrew wants his relationship to work, then Levi is gonna have to learn to accept himself. Whether Levi can embrace his true self is another question.
If life weren't complicated enough, the school shooter not only got away, but his identity remains a mystery. As time passes, Andrew realizes he might be more connected to the school shooting than he ever could have imagined.
