It's 2033, cities are almost destroyed and uninhabitable because of radiation. Survivors need to live in Moscow Metro to escape the radiation. There is no way for them to know if anybody else on the planet had survived.
People remember the past greatness of humankind, but the last remains of civilization have already become a distant memory.
Metro stations have become mini-states, their people are united around common ideas, religions, and, of course, water-filters, or the need to repel invasions of enemies.
VDNKh is the northernmost station that is inhabited and most secure on its line.
But the new terrible threat has appeared. Artyom is living in VDNKh, and he is given the task to penetrate to the heart of the Metro to alert everyone about the threat and try to get any possible help. He holds the future of his station in his hands. Maybe, the future of the whole Metro and the whole of humanity.
