I am a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. I write historical fiction based on my real Cherokee ancestors in Tennessee. I have been educating others about Native Americans for the past four years. All of my presentations are adaptable for any age of audience. I have several wonderful programs available. Topics include Writing about Native Americans, I is Not for Indian, Cherokee Indians Yesterday and Today, The Trail of Tears and Tracing your Indian Heritage. My PowerPoint and video presentation, Cherokee Indians Yesterday and Today explores the Cherokees in their homeland in the southern United States, through the Trail of Tears, and ends with the Cherokee Nation today. The Trail of Tears covers Americas darkest period: President Andrew Jacksons Indian Removal Act of 1830 and the forced removal of the Cherokee Nation to Oklahoma in 1838. I is Not for Indian covers the stereotyping of Indians. I speak to schools, libraries and groups about the Cherokee and the Trail of Tears. I also teach writing groups ut about Native Americans."
