Debbie De Louise was born and raised in Long Island, New York. She holds a BA in English and an MLS in Library Science from Long Island University. Her career as a librarian helped shape her deep appreciation for storytelling and inspired her transition to full-time writing. She has been active in groups such as Sisters-in-Crime, the Cat Writers' Association and International Thriller Writers.

De Louise's first published novel was Cloudy Rainbow (2008). She later gained recognition with her Cobble Cove series, beginning with A Stone's Throw (2015). Set in a charming small town, the series includes Between a Rock and a Hard Place (2016), Written in Stone (2017), Love on the Rocks (2018), No Gravestone Unturned (2020) and Sneaky's Supernatural Mystery and Other Cobble Cove Stories (2021). Each book combines suspenseful storytelling with light-hearted humour.

In 2019, De Louise launched her Buttercup Bend mystery series. The first book, The Case of the Cat Crazy Lady, has since been translated into Spanish and Portuguese. The series also includes The Case of the Parrot Loving Professor (2020), The Case of the Llama Raising Librarian (2021) and The Case of the Whale Watching Wedding Planner (2022).

Her stand-alone psychological thriller, Sea Scope (2019), won the silver medal in the suspense category of the Readers' Favourite. She commented on this achievement, "It's rewarding to know that readers connect with the emotional depth of my stories." Other notable titles include Memory Makers (2020), a moving exploration of memory and loss, and Time's Relative (2021), which won the Cat Writers' Association Muse Medallion.

Debbie De Louise lives in South Carolina with her family. As a cat lover, she often includes references to Harry and Hermione, two of the cats she owns.
