In this play Blood on the Altar, prosperous and charismatic pastor leads a thriving congregation. However, as the church expands, so too does the web of deceit that underpins its success. Pastor Mchungaji Mkuu is revered by his followers, but his actions are far from holy. As his moral and financial corruption deepens, key members of the congregation—Deacon Tumbo, Mama Jerusha, Sister Neema, and others—begin to realize that all is not as it seems. Through betrayal, manipulation, and hidden secrets, the play builds toward a climactic moment where the pastor’s downfall comes at the hands of someone he trusted most. The story serves as both a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked power and a scathing commentary on the hypocrisy within modern-day religious institutions.
