As the unexpected news of the Great War being declared sends shockwaves of disbelief throughout the world, it does not stop the intrepid Mr Toad of Toad Hall leaping on the opportunity for another adventure. Toad decides to go to war, to many of his friends' dismay. They must do too but dear old Badger is forced to stay behind in the Wildwood and watch the riverbank very slowly change forever until he, further in the war, takes his unexpected opportunity to do his bit for the king and country, involving Toad Hall and lots of injured soldiers.
