The seductive whispers of power draw the attention of two warring kingdoms. King Theron of the Ironclad Kingdom, a ruthless pragmatist, demands Elara forge Echo Swords for his conquering army.  Simultaneously, Queen Isolde of the Silverwood Realm, a beacon of wisdom and compassion, implores Elara to use the forge for peace. Caught between these opposing forces, Elara finds solace in Jeremy Hanson, a wandering scholar obsessed with the Whispering War’s history. He reveals the forge’s terrifying truth: it’s not merely a tool for crafting weapons, but a gateway to the Whisperers, ancient spirits trapped within the steel, fragments of a malevolent entity shattered in the first Whispering War.
