In the desolate, gray world of 2147, ravaged by a relentless botanical plague known as the Blight, Dr. Evelyn Pagee, a botanist whose emerald eyes mirror the lost verdure, carries the weight of a dying planet on her shoulders.  Project Chronus, a last-ditch effort using untested quantum entanglement, hurls her back to the botanical paradise of Victorian England, 1888.  Her mission: to gather genetic material from extinct flora, a desperate gamble to engineer resistance to the Blight and breathe life back into her ravaged future.
Stepping into the gaslit streets of London as Lady Evelyn Cavendish, a respected botanical scholar, Evelyn finds herself amidst the vibrant intellectual fervor of the era. Her path leads her to the Verdant League, a clandestine society of steampunk scientists and naturalists, led by the flamboyant inventor Professor Valerius Thorne and the enigmatic horticulturist Seraphina Bellweather.  Unbeknownst to the world above, they foresee the ecological catastrophe Evelyn hails from and strive to avert it.
Amidst whirring gears and the intoxicating fragrance of exotic plants, Evelyn finds unexpected allies in the League. Thorne's boundless enthusiasm and fantastical inventions provide her with tools disguised as Victorian contraptions — a modified magnifying glass that analyzes genetic structures, a self-filling inkwell concealing a portable refrigeration unit. But Evelyn is not alone in her journey through time.  Dr. Alistair Finch, another temporal traveler with a chillingly different agenda, lurks in the shadows. He sees humanity as Earth's true blight and manipulates time to orchestrate the very catastrophe Evelyn fights to prevent.
As Evelyn races against Finch's insidious manipulations, the lines between past and present blur.
