Norse mythology refers to the Scandinavian folklore and tales that surrounded their gods and goddesses throughout the Viking Age.


The characters of Norse mythology are fascinating, and it is easy to see how the Nordic people believed devoutly in the stories of their gods. Many of these characters mimicked the traits that humans aspired to emulate and, while most of these tales remain shrouded in mystery as to their true meanings, the people who believed in them seemed to draw strength, inspiration and, sometimes, if the stories are to be believed, took on the power of the gods so that they could serve their purpose.
