Fear is a funny thing. It will either make you seize up and panic, or motivate you to achieve things you could never do normally.
My name is Riley, and a few days ago, I lost everyone I’ve ever known and loved, including the only home I’ve ever lived in.
It all started around the time I was born. The Witch Clan considered “evil”, started messing with forbidden magic, and caused what we refer to as the big event. By the time one of the good Witch Clans realized this and stopped them, it was too late, the damage was done.
We were doing okay at home for a while. But Mom always knew this would affect us, so she had me practice an escape plan, regularly. Obviously, I hoped for a different outcome, but because of Mom’s premonition magic, I knew it was only a matter of time before she was proven right.
So between her and Dad, they made sure I had the best chance of survival. Now, I need to locate the nearly impossible-to-locate Sanctuary. Rumors are they’re fighting back and I want in. I've got no choice but to make this work because I want to survive, and more importantly, I want revenge.
