In 1932 — Pittsburgh's Hill District was the center of the negro baseball universe. Gus Greenlee was opening his stadium Greenlee Field and assembling his Pittsburgh Crawfords, a dream team of the league's luminaries: Josh Gibson, “Cool Papa” Bell and Satchel Paige. At the same time the locally based national paper, The Pittsburgh Courier wanted Greenlee to back some Democrat named Roosevelt for President.
On the morning of April 29th he learns one of his employees as gone missing.
Shadowball on the Hill is a baseball driven, noir styled drama filled with historical figures before they knew their true impact; and how a community seeks justice when the authorities couldn't be bothered.
