Philip Albenze’s life began in the most traumatic way, being born early and remaining in the NICU until he was healthy enough to go home with his parents. As a child, he struggled with asthma and poor health, yet was wrapped in the loving arms of his parents and family. While life was difficult as a sick child, he always could depend upon his family.
But Philip’s life took a drastic turn after his time in the Army. With two traumatic experiences, he found himself drowning in alcohol addiction, an unhealthy diet, and in a toxic marriage. After a series of arrests, near-death experiences, and being shot, Philip looked towards his young son and found the motivation to turn his life around.
The Black Sword chronicles Philip’s journey from a self-destructive lifestyle to becoming a bodybuilding champion and personal trainer, now helping others finding their path forward to a healthy lifestyle.
