Ecumenical Meetings

Ecumenical Meetings: A journey of gratitude in the art of sharing

Developed with the intent to offer spiritual and emotional comfort during a period of global vulnerability, the “Ecumenical Gathering” began at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic—a time marked by immense fragility. This initiative arose from the need to bring light, hope, and solace to patients, families, and staff at the Oncoclínicas unit in Bahia (NOB), a center dedicated to humane, compassionate care.

Written by a team committed to a holistic view of humanity, this book aims to unite body, mind, and spirit. Inspired by the regular ecumenical gatherings, it presents profound reflections based on a variety of spiritual and religious perspectives, offering a well-rounded approach to well-being.

The project began as an in-person event, but due to the pandemic, it was quickly adapted into an online format. This shift allowed the message of support to reach even more people, delivering words of encouragement to those facing isolation and uncertainty.

Key themes covered in the book:

The importance of spiritual and emotional support in times of crisis
The integration of diverse spiritual traditions to provide a broad perspective on life and resilience
The humanized vision and commitment of the Oncoclínicas unit to comprehensively care for patients and staff
Accounts and reflections from the ecumenical gatherings, promoting peace and spiritual growth
Illustrations by children undergoing cancer treatment, symbolizing the transformative power of love
Furthermore, the book supports the Casa Rosa project, a care initiative for cancer patients, reinforcing the importance of solidarity and continuous support for those in treatment.
