About the Author:
Frederick V. Newsome, MD, MSc was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia. His upbringing also included many entire summers in Raleigh, North Carolina. He practiced and taught academic medicine for more than fifty years in Harlem, New York, and Nigeria, West Africa.
Dr. Newsome presently lives in New Rochelle, New York, and is engaged in grandparenting and independent research and scholarship. He is also the author of An African American Philosophy of Medicine: Second Edition (2021)
