This was a great read, observing how Anne is growing and more into a resillient, resourceful, smart and cunning lady. In every character that was introduced in summerside anne has been able to get the better of, although not without hardwork and some anxiety on her part. Her soul was tested mercilessly by the pointed, dull, angry atttitude of Katherine Brooke who is determined to make every one hate her, and by the Pringles who dont mind showing to Anne and the rest of Summerside that they detest her presence in the town. Despite these trials anx tribulations, anne still come out triumphant in all of them, thanks to her good set of attributes aforementioned. The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of Gilbert's presence throughout the whole book, although we see Anne's love for him through the correspondences Anne sent to him.

Wonderful wonderful book. My 9 year old daughter and I read it together and loved it.
