Joining Rhys is Silas Thorne, a former railway security consultant consumed by the guilt of his brother’s disappearance on a previous vanished train—one whispered never to have returned.  His intimate knowledge of the city's hidden infrastructure reveals the secret architecture of The Cartographers’ operation: a network of forgotten tunnels and abandoned stations, conduits of energy pulsating with the residue of dimensional shifts.
