Patrick King is the American non-fiction author of the bestselling series of Conversation Tactics books. He describes himself as a Social Interaction Specialist, and a social skills and conversation coach.
King is also an Amazon best-selling relationships author and writes frequently on dating, love, and sex.
Patrick King is a former corporate lawyer who owns and runs Patrick King Consulting, a company dedicated to empowering people to communicate better.
He started as an attorney, helping start-up businesses and entrepreneurs get on the right track. As more and more friends began to ask for advice and help with relationships, Patrick realized that he could give additional consulting beyond his training as a lawyer.
Patrick decided to begin publishing his books on Kindle after he met another relationship coach and consultant Jordan Gray. He used the Kindle publishing Bible to help him format his first book for Kindle. It was a book on online dating. He left his job as a lawyer after 10 books were published on Amazon. At that time he knew eventually he could produce an income that would support him.
Patrick has self-published more than 25 books and counting in just over one year. King was at the top of numerous categories on Amazon as a best-selling author. In 2016, he was publishing nearly a book per week. He said it allowed him to receive royalties from Amazon of $14,000+ per month.
Patrick King attributes his success to the fact that he started his professional career as a lawyer. He focuses on using his emotional intelligence and understanding of human interaction to break down emotional barriers, instill confidence and equip people with the tools they need to succeed. No pickup artistry and no gimmicks, just a deep knowledge of human psychology with a dose of real conversation honed over three years of law school.
“If you are writing nonfiction you should have an idea of who your target audience is. You should have an idea of exactly what they want. You should know what benefits they’re expecting to get out of your book,” says the author.
